Friday lunch time sketch - I'm painting up a picture from a few days back, and playing a bit with Photoshop layers - so much fun. But I'm not sure about the colour scheme. Definately a work in progress...

So, Monday night, and I've just had enough of this - it's not working, but it's got nice (isolated) elements.

Now, this one I really enjoy - I stopped at 2am in the morning. Although it looks unfinished, I'm leaving as is on purpose. I've started a second painting along the same 'lines' but before I continue, I'm going to study body parts and keep drawing. I want to incorporate more pattern, 'Mucha' style. I spent a morning in Prague at the Mucha Museum, which was the ultimate inspiration.

Tonight's Painting - Back to basics - good line work, with defined form and simple painting... getting a bit 'bogged' down with painterly brushes and detail.

Sketches from last night - video night. Whipped out the old sketch book, whilst watching Tank Girl - awesome. I do intend on painting up a few of these...


But here's a picture I did a couple of months ago, and for some reason, I feel compelled to paint this one up! I've always enjoyed this image. So, watch this space...

August 2d Sketches

As I said previously, I didn't publish during July, because I was tripping around Europe, visiting galleries and museums, such as the Louvre in Paris, Uffizi in Florence, Vatican in Rome, Belvedere and Leopold Gallery in Vienna, the Mucha Museum in Prague and many more. I did many sketches in a tiny A3 sized book. Most of them aren't worth putting up, but I did a. buy loads of books and b. was very inspired by the masters I had the opportunity to gaze at for hours and hours and hours...

Doodle - actually, the technique is quite successful on this one. I'm fairly pleased, although some of the forms (and the compositions) are pretty dodgy.
